NEXT Program Launches to Boost Entrepreneurship in San Pedro

The municipality of San Pedro has launched the NEXT program: Entrepreneur Factory, aimed at those who reside, work or study in the area and have an operational business. From startups to traditional companies, anyone can participate in this initiative that aims to promote the entrepreneurial ecosystem of San Pedro.

The call to participate in NEXT is already open, and according to municipal authorities, the program seeks to promote ventures through direct connections with investors. The municipal secretary, Luis Susarrey, mentioned that they are pleased to have talent and creativity in the community and want to support those who wish to develop an innovative business model to solve problems and highlight the name of the city.

NEXT provides participants the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of investors made up of industry leaders, investment fund representatives, and marketing specialists. These investors will evaluate each proposal and may provide capital to those ventures they consider most promising in terms of growth.

The NEXT: Entrepreneur Factory program was originally created during the 2015-2018 administration led by Mayor Mauricio Fernández. After a six-year hiatus, the initiative returns to the city aiming to foster the entrepreneurial ecosystem of San Pedro. Juan Pablo Castuera, the executive secretary of the mayor, mentioned that in previous editions significant sums of money were raised directly from investors to support entrepreneurs.

In this new edition of NEXT, entrepreneurs with projects in various areas such as technology, food, services, health, fintech, construction, and social entrepreneurship have registered. Those interested in participating can check the requirements and register through the Instagram profile next.spgg. It is expected that in the coming weeks the names of the investors who will financially support the entrepreneurial projects will be announced.

So far, the participation of Verónica Elizondo Ortiz, a partner in a consulting group and business executive, has been confirmed in the program. With NEXT, the municipality of San Pedro reaffirms its commitment to being a prosperous, inclusive place that generates opportunities for the development of ventures in the community.
